I have a legacy angularJS 1.4 app which uses gulp and bower. I am planning to integrate React page by page. So, I created an angular directive to inject my React component. Code is shown below.
import React from "react";
import ReactDOM from "react-dom";
import Layout from "../../../react/components/App/App";
angular.module('myApp').directive('reactDirective', function() {
return {
template: '<div id="reactapp" class="react-part"></div>',
scope: {
},
link: function(scope, el, attrs){
const reactapp = el.find('reactapp');
scope.$watch('todos', function(newValue, oldValue) {
if (angular.isDefined(newValue)) {
ReactDOM.render(React.createElement(Layout, null), reactapp);
}
}, true);
}
};
});
but, I am having hard time compiling this file. I get errors like
Unexpected reserved keyword 'import'
Can someone help me to allow import statements in angularJS with gulp. I tried using require('react'), but then I get error
require is undefined
angularjs ecmascript-6 import gulp

You can use webpack or babel to compile the ES6 to browser compatible JS
