I am able to bold/unbold Italic/unitalic the edittext but in one scenario when I bring my end selection pointer towards start selection pointer and then click the italic or bold button then it throws error and crash my app. I spent the whole day but couldn't figure it out the reason and solution. Please help.

my coding for italic style is the same athe s bold text

Gives me the following error

java.lang.IndexOutOfBoundsException: setSpan (-1 ... 0) starts before 0
