When creating Oracle external tables, what is the maximum possible READSIZE?

0

I am creating an external table to load data from a text file. The file size varies between few KBs to few MBs (~90MBs). I have created table with similar script as below. In future the size of the text file input may increase and hence I would like to keep the READSIZE to maximum possible value (as the entire data gets read and loaded in a single command). Please suggest what is the maximum allowed value for READSIZE.

CREATE TABLE data_load (input_data CLOB)
ORGANIZATION EXTERNAL
(TYPE ORACLE_LOADER
DEFAULT DIRECTORY FILE_DATA
ACCESS PARAMETERS
(RECORDS DELIMITED BY NEWLINE
READSIZE 1000000000
CHARACTERSET 'UTF8'
DISABLE_DIRECTORY_LINK_CHECK
BADFILE FILE_DATA: 'data_load.bad'
LOGFILE FILE_DATA: 'data_load.log'
FIELDS (input_data CHAR(1000000000))
)
LOCATION (FILE_DATA:'data.txt'))
PARALLEL
REJECT LIMIT UNLIMITED;

  • As per the doc there is no limit on READSIZE parameter.
