JSONB containment query not using index
given a simple table
CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS test (
"data" jsonb NOT NULL
);
CREATE INDEX test_data
ON test USING gin
(data jsonb_path_ops);
this containment query properly uses the index
select * from test where data @> '{"a":1, "b":2}'
but if I reverse the containment direction, it no longer hits the index
select * from test where data <@ '{"a":1, "b":2}'
Is there a way to make this query hit the index?
For context, I'm trying to find all records which are a subset of a given larger metadata object.
