How to make plotly “scatter3d” respect order of factor levels in R
Consider this example, in which the order of levels is explicitly set:
library(plotly)
iris$sp <- factor(iris$Species, c("versicolor", "setosa", "virginica"))
A 2D scatter plot respects the order of factor levels:
plot_ly(data = iris,
x = ~sp,
y = ~Sepal.Width,
type = "scatter",
mode = "markers",
marker = list(opacity = 0.6, size = 4))
And a 3D scatter plot doesn't:
plot_ly(data = iris,
x = ~sp,
y = ~Sepal.Length,
z = ~Sepal.Width,
type = "scatter3d",
mode = "markers",
marker = list(opacity = 0.6, size = 4))
Question: How to make plotly
"scatter3d" respect the order of factor levels in R?
Now it seems that the levels are sorted as strings in the 3D plot.
Is it a bug? Or was it made on purpose?
