Fetch data from firebase and displaying on current day (FSCalendar and UITableView)
I created an application that uses the FSCalendar
library (https://github.com/WenchaoD/FSCalendar). I send the selected date from the calendar to my Firebase database (I'm not sure if it's in a good format) plus some sample text.
The problem I have is that I don’t know how to fetch the data from Firebase and view it on the right day.
My firebase data format here
func calendar(_ calendar: FSCalendar, didSelect date: Date, at monthPosition: FSCalendarMonthPosition) {
print("did select date (self.dateFormatter.string(from: date))")
let selectedDates = calendar.selectedDates.map({self.dateFormatter.string(from: $0)})
print("selected dates is (selectedDates)")
if monthPosition == .next || monthPosition == .previous {
calendar.setCurrentPage(date, animated: true)
}
let selectedDate = self.dateFormatter.string(from: date)
let ref = Database.database().reference().child("dates").child(selectedDate).childByAutoId()
let values = ["company": myTextField.text]
ref.updateChildValues(values) { (err, ref) in
if let err = err {
print("Failed to save db", err)
} else {
print("Successfully", ref)
}
}
tableView.reloadData()
}
I will be grateful for the help.
P.S: I use a UITableView
under the calendar in which I would like to display the current data.
