Forge viewer mode load time

We have forge linked to external datasets. We have a model circa 100mb which is created via model derivative api. The problem we are experiencing is it maxes the CPU when loading the model. We believe this is the large number of tags inside the viewer model browser. Is there any way to disable the model browser while still linking an external database to interact with the model?
Thanks
Daniel
