Double request handling from controller with Redis lock

0

I need to protect the system from server side to prevent the client requests more than once an action (let's say that during certain period of time) because it may cause serious problems with performance and database depending on the situation.

I found out other similar answers here but I couldn't understand exactly how to implement and it is not so clear on the github documentation.

redis = ::Redis.connect
redis.lock("test"){ |lock|
# Some code
}

My goal is just this:

def action_name
# do this request at least 5 seconds apart for this current user
end
