Eirodziesma 2011

On 6 December, LTV announced that they received a total of 71 songs, slightly less than last year, when 79 entries were sent.[1] A panel of experts will then choose the 20 entries for the selection. The names of the qualifying entries were announced on 14 December.

These are the 20 entries in the semi-finals[2]

The contestants will be divided in 2 semi-finals, to be held on 5 and 12 February. Five will qualify from each of them. As an novelty, an additional challenge round will be held on 19 February with 10 non-qualifying songs from the semi-finals. Two songs will go through the final, one chosen by the public and the other one by the jury.[3]

The national final has been set on 26 February, to be held in Ventspils, featuring a total of 12 songs. Three songs will qualify for the "superfinal", a part of the final. Out of these, the Latvian representative will be chosen. All decisions will be taken by televote and jury vote with a 50% stake each.[4]

Semi-final 1

Three songs selected through televoting and two through the votes of a jury qualified to the final. The remaining five songs passed to the Second Chance round.[5][6]
