UIView-Encapsulated-Layout-Width zero for override loadView in UIViewController subclass

I have a weird problem when I create view for UIViewController manually, not by storyboard.
This code will break constraint with reason UIView-Encapsulated-Layout-Width
is zero.
class MainViewController: UIViewController {
let mainView = MainView()
override func loadView() {
view = mainView
}
}
This code is ok:
class MainViewController: UIViewController {
let mainView = MainView()
override func viewDidLoad() {
view.addSubview(mainView)
mainView.translatesAutoresizingMaskIntoConstraints = false
mainView.topAnchor.constraint(equalTo: view.topAnchor).isActive = true
mainView.bottomAnchor.constraint(equalTo: view.bottomAnchor).isActive = true
mainView.leftAnchor.constraint(equalTo: view.leftAnchor).isActive = true
mainView.rightAnchor.constraint(equalTo: view.rightAnchor).isActive = true
}
}
I thought they’re same, and I want to use the first solution. But it’s not ok. What is the problem?
