Creating an item in SharePoint using REST API - People picker null value

0

I am trying to create an item in SharePoint list using REST API. In the list I have a people picker field which is not a required field. When I am trying to create an item using POST Method I get an error when the people picker value is null(Error is below). It works fine when I have a value in that field.

A 'PrimitiveValue' node with non-null value was found when tryig to read the value of a navigation property; however a 'StartArray' node a 'StartObject' node or a 'PrimitiveValue' node with null value was expected.

What am I missing??

  • What does your code look like for creating the item? If you want to leave a non-required field blank, you should be able to exclude it from the payload (rather than trying to set it to null).
