Jenkins to select “random node” or even better, nodes where the job has been run least

0

I have been looking for a Jenkins plugin which allows me to run builds on machines they have run the least on but have not been able to find anything.

Ideally, the plugin should use the history to determine how often the build has been run on each node and then trigger it on the node it has been run on the least.

I am more than happy to try and develop the plugin myself and hence would appreciate some guidance/link to a similar plugins source to allow me to get started with it.
Unfortunately I found the documentation for Jenkins plugin development not the most useful and have been struggling to produce something coherent.
