Add a label on job configuration page that comes from a global configuration setting
I have a config.jelly
file allows users to set a debug mode for their jobs in Jenkins. I also have a global.jelly
that allows an admin to set this at a global level. Obviously if it is set at a global level it is going take precedence over the one set at the job level.
Currently, in my config.jelly
file I have a checkbox that looks like this:
<f:entry title="${%Enable Debug Mode}" field="debugMode">
<f:checkbox checkUrl="'descriptorByName/package.name/checkDebugMode?value='+escape(this.value)"/>
</f:entry>
Which works nicely in that the associated doCheckDebugMode
can return a FormValidation.warning("Debug Mode is enabled globally.")
That displays nicely on the job configuration level (or in the pipeline snippet generator) informing the user the global setting is active.
However my IDE keeps telling me that:
Attribute checkUrl is not allowed here
which looking at the properties in checkbox.jelly
makes sense. It isn't exposed there. It works.... but this tells me it shouldn't?
How can provide a warning in a similar style to the FieldValidation.warning(...)
message but without cheating?
