How to access request headers from firefox Addon?

0

I am looking for a way to access all the request headers of the current tab url using firefox addon and send it to my server.

I found this https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/Add-ons/WebExtensions/Intercept_HTTP_requests#Modifying_request_headers firefox developers article which demonstrates how to intercept and the change the User-Agent request headers.

Here is the code that checks the current tab url and changes User-Agent Header to Opera Browser user agent.

var targetPage = "http://useragentstring.com/*";

var ua = "Opera/9.80 (X11; Linux i686; Ubuntu/14.10) Presto/2.12.388 Version/12.16";

function rewriteUserAgentHeader(e) {
e.requestHeaders.forEach(function(header){
if (header.name.toLowerCase() == "user-agent") {
header.value = ua;
}
});
return {requestHeaders: e.requestHeaders};
}

browser.webRequest.onBeforeSendHeaders.addListener(
rewriteUserAgentHeader,
{urls: [targetPage]},
["blocking", "requestHeaders"]
);

what i want to do is storing all the request header in a variable and send it to my server using xmlhttprequest instead of changing User-Agent.
