Jenkins pipeline variable issue

0

I'm facing a really interesting issue with self-define variables with Jenkins pipeline.

Below are my test script:

env.STEAKOWNER='James'

env.STEAKURL ='abcd.efg.hi.jk'

node {
stage('Preparation') {

sh 'echo $STEAKOWNER'

sh 'echo $STEAKURL'

}

}

Only 'James' been printed out.

Finally I have to change the STEAKURL to URL, then things back to normal.
Just curious, why does the variable name make a difference here?

  • I ran your script above and it printed both variable values as expected. I'm not sure whats going on with your pipeline though. Have you been changing the variable names in your script ?
