In PVM, why PvmTaskDefault behave different than 0?

0

In a very simple C program, I configured 2 machines:

  • Machine A: Which acts as Master and Slave

  • Machine B: Which acts as Slave only

I am trying to make them both work as slaves as you can see, but I found a problem in the following line...

pvm_spawn("slaveTask", (char**)0, PvmTaskDefault, "", 2, tid);
// ^ notice this

If I place the line like that, only the Machine B works as intended, but the Machine A for some reason do not want to work as slave.

BUT, if I change that line with the following...

pvm_spawn("slaveTask", (char**)0, 0, "", 2, tid);
// ^ notice this

Then both Machines A and B work as slaves, and A also as master.

I checked in websites like this and this that state that both are the same, when they are clearly not.

Could I have some explanation?

Thanks in advance.
