python3 issue with locale.str does not work on float?
I experiencing some issues with locale.str(). It does not generate a valid string of a number for my locale setting:
% python3
Python 3.6.6 (default, Sep 12 2018, 18:26:19)
[GCC 8.0.1 20180414 (experimental) [trunk revision 259383]] on linux
Type "help", "copyright", "credits" or "license" for more information.
>>> import locale
>>> locale.getlocale()
('de_DE', 'UTF-8')
>>> locale.str(.2)
'0.2'
Following the documentaion:
locale.str(float)
Formats a floating point number using the same format as the built-in function str(float), but takes the decimal point into account. docs
What I would expect as German format is '0,2'.
Where is my mistake?
locale python-3.6
