So i checked everywhere and cant seem to find a way to do this. I am creating a chat feature and have a menu showing all users currently on a certain chat page. I have an array in firebase of users that entered the chat.

I know how to remove the user if the app is still running in the background. I dont know how to remove the user from the array when the user force closes the app.

This is the code to remove the user when they go home and the app is still running the background:

//Remove user from online list if app is in background
document.addEventListener('pause', () => {
this.chatDB.update({
users: firebase.firestore.FieldValue.arrayRemove(firebase.auth().currentUser.toJSON())
});
})
//Add user if re enters the app from when it was in the background
document.addEventListener('resume', () => {
this.chatDB.update({
users: firebase.firestore.FieldValue.arrayUnion(firebase.auth().currentUser.toJSON())
});
})

But when i try to force close the app, these functions dont run
