I have a C++ project created in Windows Visual Studio but I would like to create an executable file for Mac. Is this something I can do natively in Windows?

I've heard that some things in the code will need to be swapped to alternatives, such as #pragma once, but my question is about the actual creation of the executable and putting it on a disc image. Since there is a Mac version for Visual Studio I was hoping there was some way to convert the project directly into a Mac version one and maybe do it through that route somehow.

  • Afaik you need a Mac in order to create a Mac executable — and even if there was a way to create the executable on a Windows box, you’d still need a Mac in order to run the executable to verify that it works. So your options are either: acquire a Mac, or (possibly) install MacOS on your PC “hackintosh” style (which may or may not work; I recommend using an actual Mac if possible)
