.NET XmlReader ValidationEventHandler concurrency issues

Is there an easy way to check if all calls to the ValidationEventHandler for the XmlReader have completed execution?

I am assuming the XmlReaderSettings.ValidationEventHandler for the XmlReader is called asynchronously? If not, problem solved. Otherwise not all calls to ValidationEventHandler may have completed by the time the reader is done reading.

I use ConcurrentQueue in a ValidationCallBack method as the handler for the ValidationEventHandler to compile validation errors and warnings. After validating the xml, I check the count of the ConcurrentQueue. My concern is calls to ValidationCallBack may not have run by then so it is possible for the validation errors to not yet be recorded in the ConcurrentQueue. Possibly causing a false positive validation or missing 1 or more errors when checked.

Is there a way to synchronize the validation results and the method that does the validation? Below is a simplified version of my current code.

static ConcurrentQueue<string> validationQ = new ConcurrentQueue<string>();

static string GenerateXml(Dictionary<string, object> data)
{
...
//generate xml
...

XmlReaderSettings settings = new XmlReaderSettings();
settings.Schemas.Add(xmlSchemaSet);
settings.ValidationEventHandler += ValidationCallBack;
settings.ValidationType = ValidationType.Schema;
settings.ValidationFlags |= XmlSchemaValidationFlags.ReportValidationWarnings;
XmlReader reader = XmlReader.Create(stream, settings);

//Validate XML
while (reader.Read()) { }
if (validationQ.Count > 0)
{
throw new XmlSchemaValidationException(string.Concat(validationQ));
}

...
return result;
}

private static void ValidationCallBack(object sender, ValidationEventArgs args)
{
switch (args.Severity)
{
case XmlSeverityType.Warning:
validationQ.Enqueue(@" Warning: " + args.Message);
break;
default:
validationQ.Enqueue(@" Error: " + args.Message);
break;
}
}
