How to capture page finish in android which is called from `onPageFinished` itself

0

I am having difficulty in implementing a functionality of calling js from webview.

What i did so far

  1. I loaded a webpage from oncreate with webView.load(url) method.

  2. in the onPageFinished method of the webview i called a js function in the previously loaded webpage.

Now comes the problem

lets think i that js does some ui changes to the webview and afterwards the js completes the task i want to call another js.

so naturally i thought of calling that js after the first mentioned in '2'.

but the program flow is not sequential, ie, i called both js one by one from the onPageFinished

like this

        @Override
public void onPageFinished(WebView view, String url) {
super.onPageFinished(view, url);

wv1.post(new Runnable() {
@Override
public void run() {
System.out.println("here1111");

wv1.loadUrl("javascript:loadPage('" + filename + "',"+scrollval+",'"+pagepath+"');");
}

});

wv1.post(new Runnable() {
@Override
public void run() {
System.out.println("before calling search "+searchStringGlobal+" >>>><<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<");

wv1.loadUrl("javascript:highlightSearchText('"+searchStringGlobal+"');");
}

});

}

this is my code. this code is to load a page and highlight the passed text. page is loading text is not highlighting.

I verified that the problem is not with my highlighting function by simply loading the data first in oncreate and calling the highlighting function afterwards.

please help is my logic/approach correct or just a minor issue?
