Ignore fields from a Doctrine2 Entity when running schema-manager update

I've got a Doctrine Entity defined that maps to a table in my database. The table has some extra columns in it because 2 systems read from the same database.
Now when i run the schema:update command doctrine will remove the columns that are not listed in the entity.
Is there a way to keep these columns in de database table and don't add them as properties in the entity? Or is the only solution adding the properties to the entity?
Thank you all!
